Brave New Voices 2010

Brave new voices was great.
it inspired me to become a poetry writer.
the performers were GREAT. my favorite performers
were
Jay Davis , Olivia gatwood , Hadeel Ramadan, Ishmael islam , Erica mcmath.
They're stories were great. and he way they spoke them with so much emotion.
i got goosebumps throughout all they're performances :']

The N-Word .

1. Where does the N-Word Come from? Why does it offend some people so much?
The "N-Word" comes from slavery. The N-Word is what the white people used to call
African-Americans. It offends a lot of people because it was used as such a negative term
back then.
2.  Should non-black people be able to use the N-Word?
I think it depends on how they use the word. For example if they say " Wassup my N***a " then
they don't mean it in a wrong way so they can use it . But if they said "oh your a N***er" Then they
mean as a offensive word so they shouldn't use the word.
3. Should musicians stop using the N-Word?
I don't think they should. Why ? Because they are the ones that are trying to make the word non-offensive.
4. Do other ethnic groups (for example, Chinese, Jews, and Dominicans) use ethnic slurs like the N-Word to describe themselves?  If not, Why? No they do not and i honestly don't know.
